My homelab

My homelab is a Dell Optiplex 5050 that I bought used for about $150 from a local shop called Sherwood Computers. It’s been great, and I recommend the shop!

The machine is running Debian with no desktop environment. It’s running headless (there is no monitor connected). I access it over SSH.

I use it primarily for remote text editing of my personal stuff: my Obsidian vault of Markdown files, this blog, and various coding projects. I do this so I can access and edit these files from my work laptop without storing them on that machine.
