Oliver Burkeman letter on "aliveness"
I always look forward to Oliver’s newsletter, The Imperfectionist. The latest letter is titled Navigating by aliveness and provides some good thoughts on AI and some of the obnoxious commentary going around lately:
- Fiverr CEO’s internal memo on AI coming for everyone’s jobs unless, conveniently, they work harder at the same pay for his company. 🙄 Oliver also links to Sophie Katsali’s solid breakdown of the memo.
- Zuck’s promise that AI friends will help lonely people feel less alone. Is there anything more fucking dystopian??
I appreciate Oliver’s thoughts on AI, which he’s shared in some earlier editions as well. He walks a good line between taking it seriously but also reassuring us that the human element is still invaluable and untouched by the AI frenzy.
That sentiment feels especially relevant to the indie blogging community. Or whatever we’re called. Cheers to you all!
