macOS dotfiles locations

Thanks to Rebecca for her post, macOS dotfiles should not go in ~/Library/Application Support. I've maintained a dotfiles repo for many years and use GNU Stow to symlink my configs into the right places. This means I've spent considerable time figuring out what those right places are and scratching my head at the underlying organizational principles. So I appreciate Rebecca's strong and researched opinion. I learned stuff!

And now I have to give the stinkeye to Logseq. I recently went hunting for a setting in one of its config files. I quickly found the config in the notes folder and the global config in ~/.logseq. I assumed my setting must be in one of those spots. But only after lots of grepping and subsequent flopping around in web searches did I learn that it also keeps global config in ~/Library/Application Support, where I finally found the file I was looking for. I assume there was good reason for this, but also, ... wat.
