Disappointment with the Apple Intelligence proofreader
I was excited to use the Apple Intelligence proofreader now that I’ve switched to Bear.app for notes and writing. But I was quickly disappointed with the feature.
First, it can’t figure out my semantic line breaks. It always tells me to select more text, no matter how much I’ve selected. Granted, semantic line breaks are weird, so this one’s on me.
The bigger issue is that, when I ask for a proofread, it gives me a whole new version of the text without showing any of the changes it made. That’s not at all what I want. I don’t want a new revision. I want to know if and, more importantly, where I’m making errors.
So, for now, this is useless to me and I’ll stick with Grammarly for quick error checks. I hope Apple improves proofreading in the future.
