Fleet Week
Fleet Week just wrapped up in Portland. As I was biking to work yesterday across the Burnside Bridge, I saw tugs pulling the Navy ships out into the channel of the Willamette River. Looking at the website, I believe these are the USS Mustin (DDG 89) and USS Jack H Lucas (DDG 125).
Here’s one of them popping up over the trees on my ride home. That ugly fencing is not normally there. I assume it’s for security during the event.
There were several other ships as well. This one, the USCGC Eagle, looked very cool, though with all the fencing around it, I couldn’t find a great spot for a photo.
