14,000 steps before lunch
Thanks to a treadmill desk! In today’s case, it’s not my Walkolution but rather the electric LifeSpan model at my office. I took advantage of an open morning to stay mostly on the treadmill doing focus work.
According to the treadmill’s display, I walked nearly 4 miles and burned 375 calories by 11:35 a.m. I’m not doing it for calories though; it’s for my back pain and general energy level. And it’s been great for both of them.
I’m a bit concerned that overdoing it will contribute to some other problem — perhaps a repetitive stress injury, especially on the electric treadmill which makes for very consistent strides. So I’ve been choosing a slower pace and cutting back as soon as I’m feeling any pain, and so far that’s worked well. Any pains have faded quickly, and holistically, I’ve been feeling great. Better and better, I’d say.
If you’re curious about these things, I highly recommend trying one out!
